Referring to the Saturday schedule on our event page, you will see that we have set aside one hour prior to the start of the first workshop to help attendees through the software setup. Otherwise, if you can install the software yourself today or tomorrow, then you may arrive shortly before 10:00 for the first session on the Unix shell. The Venue Our workshop is being organized at the 'E' wing of Conestoga's main campus in Kitchener at 299 Doon Valley Drive. The workshop will be organized in room 1E05, which is on the underground level of the 'E' wing. Multi threaded application fails with error Out of Job Buffers

Hey everyone, I'm trying to switch my mysql cluster to use the multi threaded data node. But when I start a node using ndbmtd on ubuntu 14.04 using kernal 3.13.0-79- generic I get an error that the job buffers are exhausted. Is there anything I can do to fix this or should I wait for 16.04 and a newer kernel? Thanks! Randy

Wget under-reports data transfer rate ("bandwidth") by 5%

Wget can be used to measure download data rate. For example, wget --output-document=/dev/null http://speedtest.wdc01.softlayer.com/downloads/test500.zip Then observe the progress meter and kill the process. IMHO, wget thinks a MB is 2^20 (== 1MiB), instead of 10^6. This results in a 5% error. (Softlayer seems to have made the same error.) Am I wrong? Have others noticed that? According to wget's definition of "bug", this error does not seem to be a "bug". Or? (It doesn't crash -- just gives a wrong answer, based on a wrong assumption.) -- Peter Renzland(a)gmail.com
