Mailing List Software Upgrade

We're live with the new mailing list software. The upgrade was as smooth as greased gravel and hopefully you won't notice a thing. There are new names for the lists, where we've changed from talk(a)gtalug.org to talk(a)lists.gtalug.org If you have any contact info for GTALUG, maybe update those? But, we're configured such that messages to the old list *should* be seamlessly redirected to the new list, so you don't actually have to do anything at all. Thanks for your patience should any hiccups arise...

Speakers...

At the last meeting I mentioned that we need speakers for up coming meetings. I, however, do no have the contacts that many of you have in the Linux and Floss world. I have topic ideas, but no speakers... This is your group too and the BOD can only do so much. I will be posting a link in the next coming days with a list of topics. If you feel you can do a talk, or know of someone who can, on any of them, please reach out (speakers(a)gtalug.org) I still have no speaker for next week, not for the lack of trying. 2FA for web sign in

It was requested that we send some test messages to the new mail list, so here's one, with a purpose. Is there a way to enable two factor authentication for signing in to the mail list web site at https://lists.gtalug.org ? Ideally (for me) using a hardware security key, such as a YubiKey or Google Titan, or less ideally, using FIDO one-time code from the Google Authenticator app or equivalent, or even less ideally, from an e-mailed code. -- Scott

on internet speeds and crossing providers?

Hi folks, I am moving, and my new situation does not include Internet in the rent. stunning how many landlords include it these days though. Anyway its been almost 4 years since I shopped for a plan. Add that all my stuff is wired, along with my likely keeping Fibe with bell, and I have two questions. First, can I say find a good internet plan elsewhere, yet use bell for television? I run DOS. I do not watch movies on my computer. While I do download audio, its not likely to be expansive. that a bell sells rep said I had to buy unlimited, at $75, seemed well goofy. So, just what do those numbers really mean in terms of real value? Could I find a better price for Internet, keeping cable with them? many moons ago I did that very thing, cable was with Rogers, home phone and Internet with bell..but this was years ago. Ideas? Apache2+Wordpress URL gets rewritten

Hi! Perhaps someone can help me. I have two domains which both point to the same website (Debian, Apache2, Wordpress). When I put either URL in the browser's address bar, I get to the site (yay), and the URL gets rewritten in the address bar to the default (boo). The two domains are in different languages, so ideally you would get the language appropriate to the URL you used, but because it gets rewritten, I can't seem to make this work. Any hints would be appreciated! Apache config details: each URL is a separate virtual host, but both point to the same document root. Language stuff in Wordpress is managed by WPML, which would give me the option to read the URL and display the appropriate language... except it doesn't work because the URL is getting rewritten. Thank you!
