Encrypted backups and sync

Oops. sorry I accidentally sent the email. So, I have several laptops and a desktop that I would like to back up and keep in sync. * Every client (laptop) is encrypted with cryptsetup and LUKS * There are different configuration and big image files that I would like to back up from each device but not synchronize * I can host my own server * I would prefer to store encrypted backup on a cryptsetup and LUKS partition * I would like to periodically sync encrypted backup partition to s3/google drive with minimal overhead * I only want to mount encrypted backup partition when sync/backup is in progress and I'm fine with mounting that backup partition with the keys stored on the client machines in clear text * I don't have to have web interface or * I need to automatically do file sync backup for the clients, preferably based on network location (i.e. when I'm close to backup server, or connected with a fast link). I'm thinking of clobbering something together with a bunch of scripts, but my guess is this problem has been either completely solve, or I can just use a few big pieces to solve it. Could you recommend any tools for that? Thanks, Alex.

Create an OpenPGP keypair for yourself (if you haven't) already. 2. Print or write down your key fingerprint and bring it with you. You'll have to confirm at the signing that the list is correct for your key. 3. Send your public key before the event to the `pgp.mit.edu` keyserver. 4. Bring a goverment-issued picture ID of yourself. ### At the Key Signing Party 1. Each participant should meet up face to face with every other participant to receive their key fingerprint and examine their ID, and to give them your key fingerprint and have them examine your ID. 2. Check that the fingerprint of the key you've just fetched matches the fingerprint on the slip of paper: `gpg --fingerprint <KeyID>` and compare it with the hard copy in front of you. 4. If (and only if) you are happy that the fingerprints match and the person showed you sufficient ID, you can do the actual 'signing' part of the process: `gpg --sign-key <KeyID>` and answer the questions it asks. 5. Next you need to send the signed copy of their key back to them. Now upload the signed key back to the server `gpg --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --send-key <Key_ID>`. Lenovo Thinkpad T410

Hi all, I need to get a computer for a project that requires a program that is only available for windows. However, I intend to dual boot with Linux and want to make sure that I buy something that is nicely compatible. And I'm looking for the portability of a laptop. There seems to be a general appreciation of Thinkpads on this list. I have my eye on a Thinkpad T410 and was wondering if anyone has reason to suggest that I should stay away from that particular model. The store will be installing Windows 7 and they apparently have enough Linux knowledge to install a dual boot system. I believe there was someone on the list (I think from Kitchener) who sold laptops pre-installed with linux. If that person is still around, I'd welcome a contact off list. Thanks, John.

One Plus One Invite to Give Away: Expires at 8:30 am

Hello All, I have an invite for a One Plus One phone to give away. The first person to respond to me privately and actually wants to buy the phone for personal use gets it. I'm not charging anything for it and trust that you won't be selling the invitation. You must use the invite before 8:30 am on Tuesday. If I don't hear from anyone in the next couple of hours, I'll just post it on the forums on the OPO site. I have the 64GB sandstone black model with the OPO flip case. It was US$391.38 including DHL shipping. I ordered on a Wednesday morning and had the phone in my hands on Friday afternoon after paying another C$64.90 in customs brokerage fees, HST, and duties.
