(off-topic) bee nest inside brick wall
(off-topic) I have bees inside of exterior brick wall. They are coming/going from the spaces between bricks. Anyone had this? And, how did you get rid of them? - University of YouTube and Google AI say to use "insecticide dust". I couldn't find anything for bees locally, so I bought "ant killing powder" from Canadian Tire. It's been 3 days. Bees are still actively flying about. - I may have to resort to chemical spray. There are 2 types of spray: liquid and foam. Is "foam" better for bees inside brick wall?
William -- that's really unfortunate. I know someone else who had/has this problem but with wasps. After opening up the hole a bit more, they secured those bug zappers near it and every time a wasp came out it would get zapped. Mind you they went through a lot of batteries. They didn't want to call an exterminator or use insecticide as they were afraid of having toxic chemicals infiltrate into their home. And they don't want to open up the bricks for obvious reasons. These are wild bees, so do not give any honey. Maybe leave them alone and they will not bother you. The wild bees are laying bee eggs and leaving food for their kids for next spring, where they will hatch and fly away. When it gets colder they will naturally die off. At that time in the spring you can plug the holes and they will not return. No insecticide is required. This is they natural behaviour. Most of your veg and fruit relies on such bees.
