The selling point, in my opinion, is that it is FREE and no different than Windows or Mac. There really is no geek factor if you stick with the main distributions - it's just like switching from a Win to a Mac or Android to iphone. Slightly different user interface, maybe, but once you get used to it, it's all the same. Most people just use their PCs for web browsing, streaming, email, and some office stuff. And all of these can be done through your browser. There is really nothing to 'learn'
