Workaround for flaky LibreOffice macros

Hi all, Macros in LibreOffice is still flaky. For simple key macros, you can use 'xdotool' as a workaround. Eg. 1. On terminal xdotool selectwindow 2. Click LibreOffice Calc window. Its windowid (say, 12345678) will be printed on the terminal. 3. Click a cell. 4. On terminal xdotool key --window 12345678 --clearmodifiers F2 1 2 3 4 Enter will put '1234' into that cell.

Hi all,
Macros in LibreOffice is still flaky.
Not every piece of Free Software is wonderful. LibreOffice is flaky junk in many respects. Don't get me started on magically changing styles in its presenter. Want a spreadsheet? Gnumeric. Want to write a PDF or print doc? LyX. Want to make a presentation? LaTeX/Beamer. Want to make an HTML page? Bluefish. Want to make a vector graphic? Inkscape. You can mix and match and link output of all this stuff into a work product. There's one catch: Want a pixel editor? Your SOL, because Gimp's best days are 20 years behind it, and I know of no other Free Software pixel editor that's even half way decent. SteveT Steve Litt http://444domains.com

Well - - - you've about mentioned everything else but not word processing. You don't (wacky beeg grin) or you just don't want to? Would be very curious as to what you recommend. Regards
