Dear lug, The Libre Graphics meeting is coming in April[1] and I was wondering if anyone had posted a message about the event here? I know LUGs tend to be more technical/sysadmin, but since this is a bunch of Linux software developers getting together, then I'd encourage everyone interested to check out their page: [1] http://libregraphicsmeeting.org/2015/ I'm actually with the Inkscape project and we're looking for local people who are interested in inkscape and future development etc. We've got a contact form if interested: https://inkscape.org/contact/us/ Thanks! Best Regards, Martin Owens

Hi Martin, I'm a happy Inkscape user but can't write a lick of code. Would the group and I be of interest to each other? On 25 February 2015 at 18:32, Martin Owens <doctormo@gmail.com> wrote:

Inkscape has really come on with the last few releases, so congratulations on that. I haven't even scratched the surface of the newer features. Not sure I'd be much use to your group, as all I'd do is fulminate about font handling. fontconfig is a great idea, except it now has layer upon layer of substitutions which typically result in something egregious happening. No, evince: Liberation Sans is /*not*/ a suitable substitute for ZapfDingbats, and never was … cheers, Stewart
