This means that the pages should last a long time. I don't know if other inkjet companies have caught up. (Inkjets are expensive per page. We only use them when we need colour, and that is rarely enough that the jets tend to get clogged.) | 2. Just remember Stewart Russell's talks. There is a SANE driver that should handle this scanner but it is listed as untested and unmaintained. <http://sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html#Z-EPSON> <http://sane-project.org/man/sane-epsonds.5.html> | collecting dust in my basement. I find they fade a bit, but they're not nearly as fugitive as the HP colour inks. This one has slightly cheaper cartridges than my big ol' WF-7520, and I've never really found the cost of printing to be excessive. Linux drivers aren't bad for these. There's the basic open-source driver, then the slightly better-functioning one from http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/search/01/search/?OSC=LX The scanner's likely quite decent, but seemingly has a different feature set from the one on my WF-7520. Mine uses the SANE epson2 driver.

This would be a *lot* less hassle than the scanner on the WF-7520. These dedicated document scanners are rather good. cheers, Stewart
