Ugh. The article starts with good ol' jingoism and then proceed not to give a single citation of the TPP, condensing to just bunch of paraphrasing taken out of context. Reading the comments it seems that many people didn't think very highly of Planet Money's journalism on this piece either.

Of the 2 articles, I think the Globe is closer to the mark. I largely trust openmedia.ca on this and other IP issues, and they've been VERY strongly against it.
