(very off topic) quality die grinder bits

Hi all, Very off topic, but I'm fed up. I sharpen my lawn mower blade with die grinder. Problem is, all the bits that I bought from Canadian Tire, Rona, and Home Depot, they all wobble. Except for one bit. And, that has been used so much that I need a new one, now. If anyone has die grinder, what brand of grinding bits do you recommend? --

I don't use a die grinder, but have used an angle grinder on my lawn mower blade before. You've run through all the usual (ugh) stores but one: princessauto.com. But most/all of their stuff is China made. I go to Princess Auto quite often for grinding, welding accessories. You can also try busybeetools.com but I've not gone there for many a year. https://www.princessauto.com/en/searchresults?Ntt=die%20grinder%20accessorie... https://www.princessauto.com/en/searchresults?Nr=product.active%3A1&Ntt=rotary%20file%20set* On Sun, 12 May 2024 at 22:22, William Park via talk <talk@gtalug.org> wrote:

Thanks. I'll visit Princess Auto near my work. I've been browsing Amazon, and it's sad. You can tell some grinding bits are off-axis even from the pictures. - I tried angle grinder, but it takes off too much metal, too fast. - I tried rotary tool, but it took too long. - I tried manual file, and that's too much work. :-) - I found die grinder is just right. I just bought a rotary file set from PA last month that I was going to chuck into my corded drill. Maybe I'll try it on my lawn mower blade. I was going to use it for grinding down errant welds. On Sun, 12 May 2024 at 22:56, William Park <opengeometry@yahoo.ca> wrote:

I use a belt sander when my mower blade gets in bad shape. If you have one around already, worth a try. rb

I just used a metal file on my lawn mower blade. This is a lawn mower so I'm not so interested in a keen edge. A couple dozen of touch up strokes and the job is done. On Mon, 13 May 2024 at 00:57, Ron / BCLUG via talk <talk@gtalug.org> wrote:

Over the weekend, I tried "flap disc" for angle grinder. Yes, flap disc is the best way to restore the edge of lawn mower blade. I guess, I could use sanding bit on die grinder (if I can find one), and the result would be about the same but slower. Thanks for the idea of "belt sander", ie. sand paper. thanks, good to know. I bought a set of flap disks for my angle grinder but have yet to try them out. This year the top deck of my lawn mower had rusted out so I had to do a metal and welding job, and was worried that the welding might ignite the gas. I had drained the tank and waited a couple of months for the vapours to evaporate. On Wed, 3 Jul 2024 at 01:51, William Park via talk <talk@gtalug.org> wrote:
