I've shopped at Ali for almost a decade from multiple locations over two continents. It's my dollar store for cables
Has anyone tried this Canadian seller:
No, and I wouldn't based on customer experience. <https://ca.trustpilot.com/review/www.primecables.ca> They're part of a Montreal based e-commerce suite of companies that do
toner, ink, cables, and a lot more. Think online Best Buy but 100% Canadian.
The claim is "100% Canadian", but they likely employ far fewer Canadians than Best Buy. Reviews indicate that most -- maybe all -- products in the catalog are imported The promotional video <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMQKO8bIIUs> strikes me as more sketchy than persuasive. And they hide their DNS WHOIS info, which to me is always a warning sign for a consumer-facing organization. The ad was 10+ minutes of discussing design decisions in each component of
disassembled products - and I love hearing about these engineering thought processes.
The MO sounds like a Kickstarter/Indiegogo project. BTW, that's not an insult, I've bought my share of Indiegogo stuff, but the marketing style is unmistakable and not uncommon in that world. - Evan
