The cameras work fine with Linux, you can use any browser to access them. What you're looking for is the software to do stuff with the video. Incidentally, security cameras are normally used with a DVR and those DVRs usually run Linux. So, perhaps you could provide more info on what your requirements are, so someone here might provide suggestions.
