Thanks! I found the official repair manual that way, with a picture of how the part fits. Alas, either my fingers are two weak or I don't know a secret (;-))

I hope this isn't stating the obvious, but doing a YouTube search on "MFP M177 repair" provides dozens of responses. I can't pick one out because I don't know what part, but maybe one of them can suggest a path. A few of them are the standard ones about replacing consumables, but many get into the printer mechanisms.
