I want to run a server from home, is more of the goal.
Ah, apologies for misunderstanding. I guess I should've checked noip.com first... Okay, it's a DDNS service by the looks of things. I'm on TekSavvy *cable*, formerly Shaw's last-mile, now I guess it's Rogers. It lets me run lots of servers from home, and I only update my IP in the domain registry management software less than once per year. So, depending on your ISP, you may not need a DDNS - your IP may be stable enough to not have to worry about it. What's your ISP for starters? How often does your IP change? Which services / ports does your ISP block? Hopefully I've gotten a little more on-target with this post?
