Back when I was using OpenSUSE for my firewall, I didn't use Network Manager. I had a manual config. However, I switched to psSense for my firewall, as OpenSUSE didn't work with DHCPv6-PD, which Rogers uses to provide IPv6. I don't know if the situation is the same with Centos.
