Exactly the opposite case, IMO. Google needs (and has always needed) Firefox, exactly to demonstrate that the Chromium engine is not a monopoly. Apparently 90% of Mozilla's funding comes from Google. Google pays that money to be the default search engine for Firefox. Google may have to stop.
