Are you using the proprietary nvidia driver? If so, good luck getting support. With my distro, bug reports are only dealt with if no proprietary drivers are loaded. Ditto for upstream (the kernel bugzilla). Nouveau is not proprietary so it is OK. But it is pathetic.
