Don't buy consumer oriented laptops if you want reliability. My wife had one Asus laptop that was pretty near indestructible, but it was very much a business oriented model. That was the R1 tabletpc about 12 years ago. It survived an amazing amount of abuse. Thinkpads are generally very sturdy. Ideapads are total junk. One aims at business, the other consumers. -- Len Sorensen
