thanks, good to know. I bought a set of flap disks for my angle grinder but have yet to try them out. This year the top deck of my lawn mower had rusted out so I had to do a metal and welding job, and was worried that the welding might ignite the gas. I had drained the tank and waited a couple of months for the vapours to evaporate. On Wed, 3 Jul 2024 at 01:51, William Park via talk <talk@gtalug.org> wrote:
Over the weekend, I tried "flap disc" for angle grinder. Yes, flap disc is the best way to restore the edge of lawn mower blade. I guess, I could use sanding bit on die grinder (if I can find one), and the result would be about the same but slower.
Thanks for the idea of "belt sander", ie. sand paper.

- I tried angle grinder, but it takes off too much metal, too fast. - I tried rotary tool, but it took too long. - I tried manual file, and that's too much work. - I found die grinder is just right.
I use a belt sander when my mower blade gets in bad shape.
If you have one around already, worth a try.
