The Quest is a standalone device, not a peripheral.
Its native OS is highly-mutated Android so in that sense it is already running under a Linux kernel and AOSP underpinnings.
To my knowledge (tho I may be wrong) there are no third-party Linux distributions for it such as LineageOS.
Wine is irrelevant because it's an ARM rather than x86 device.

Can this device be used under Linux natively, preferably without things like Wine ?
What sort of Linux support if any can be expected ?

Hi all.

For those of you experimenting with Virtual Reality:

The $550 Oculus Quest, best VR headset that doesn't require tethering to a PC, has been nearly impossible to get (at regular price) since September. It's now for sale at both Amazon and Best Buy. Delivery only -- no in-store pickup because the stores are closed.
