I still can't find anything saying that 870596 has anything to do with Bissell. However, even though they don't contain that number, some of the hits I get using it seem to suggest that the vacuum is one of the Lift-off 2-in-1 models, which are a combination stick style and removable hand vacuum. If this is the case, at least some of them use adapter number 1600689, which looks like it has a barrel connector, though I don't know if it's a standard size. Most sites selling replacements don't give the output specifications. One seller on Amazon said it's 16 volts, 130mA but I wouldn't trust just this one source, especially since that same site says it's 12 volts in another place and says the power output is 65 watts, which doesn't add up. -- Scott
