Shortly after Lennart posted this, I hit eBay "one last time" and saw
some guy selling 4x8G sticks of the exact Kingston memory out of Quebec
for $35/stick (+shipping and HST).  He had only listed them a few hours
earlier and there was already an "offer" on it.

I hit "buy it now", it arrived and has been running stable with the RAM
for the past couple days.   Thanks for the advice.  Less stuff in the
landfill.

I swear I've been watching ebay on and off for months on this.  They
might pop up and disappear very quickly.
