The first version of Linux I ever got my hands on was Yggdrasil Linux. I bought it at the UofT bookstore in the fall of 1994. It was the first and last time I have been to that bookstore. I'm not avoiding the place. I just haven't found myself in the area again.
Ditto. Looking at my back-issues, I was at the UofT bookstore in 1995 buying 4-distro releases from InfoMagic -- installing Slackware from them because of Bob Dobbs. The store had piles of recent issues of Linux Journal for sale as well. I was buying official Slackware releases there up to 2005 after which the well ran dry. Probably because of distribution over the net. Mel.
