agreed, touch, make a weld drop and you're done. The part we don't see is that the metal is so hot that you can't touch it for 10 minutes, and any plastic near it will be completely melted. Melting metal requires high temps, 6k celsius is quite hot. I have used needle nose pliers to hold metal pieces together for simple one touch zaps, and have melted the plastic handle covers. I have used welding magnets to hold metal pieces together for a single zap spot weld, and have melted the paint off the magnet.
From what I saw on YouTube, you just touch, then zap. Now that you
mention it, I don't remember seeing any plastic near the metal parts
that they are welding. :-)
