If It is gas then your looking at a professional install and it would likely be best to go with whatever brand the installer sells. If you have time it may be worth looking at a heat pump heater. On demand heaters can be good but as a general rule the gas powered on demand heaters have issues with water temp fluctuations. The electric on demand heaters have better temp control but suck back crazy amounts of electricity(I have one and it can draw 125 amps at 240V).
