Hi all,
I'm one of the co-organizers of Our Networks, a conference about the past, present, and future of building our own network infrastructures.
Now in its third year, the theme for 2019 is RE: Infrastructures, and explores the collective care and maintenance of alternative networking practices—new protocols, peer-to-peer connections, offline-first computing, and community-based governance.
The program and registration have recently launched (full blurb below) and we're all pretty excited about the line up!
It'll be a mix of hands-on workshops, talks, and discussions around the decentralized and peer-to-peer web as well as community governance and networks. We also have some social activities planned, screenings, a zine library, and more!
The event has a sliding scale registration ($25-110 CAD) and ticket scholarships available, to register and find out more: https://ournetworks.ca/#registration
Any provision for those very interested but not able to be physically present?
Yep! We'll be livestreaming the main room and recorded talks will be posted after (you can check out 2018 talks here: https://ournetworks.ca/recorded-talks/)
