My search for the existence of a Sony model psls 29 didn't turn up anything meaningful. Perhaps you meant the Sony PS-LX295 turntable. If so, it is indeed true that the turntable is powered from 12VDC provided by the receiver. However, the power connection does not use a phono plug.
