I'm going to try self hosting again, last time I used noip.com <http:// noip.com>, but since it's Canada Day, is there a Canadian alternative? I use https://websavers.ca/, they're a Canadian company (Halifax?) hosted in Quebec on OVH servers. Can get 1 vCore (CPU), 2GB RAM, 1 IPv4, 1+ IPv6, 10GB disk, 5TB traffic for CAD $5 / month. Easy enough to add more, although I don't think they support per-minute scaling like some providers (not sure though). Happy enough with them. Transferred my domains there too, although I find their basic DNS management software a bit less than optimal. Should probably just do my own DNS.
the Only issue with OVH as infrastucture provider is that they have started cutting costs on abuse management from all of their IP resources, some other providers like Dreamhost started doing the same. The problem is that this is not a place to cut back on costs and policies as sometimes entire IP ranges end up in data lists making it hrad, difficult and sometimes impossible to send or relay email reliably through OVH ranges. If you are involved in Spamhaus or the others, it is easier as you can take over abuse for your assigned ip's It is possble to also lease router and then simply assign your own IP numbers but for that you probably need to have a commecial application (or just be rich) Andre
