There are four companies that own cell towers in this region. Each of them operates under three different brands to offer the illusion of widespread competition. Each tier has its own marketing, features and characteristics, but there is fairly little difference between The Big Three within each tier.
Videotron is a relative newcomer and a little different; they got Freedom by acquisition, Fizz fairly new and being aggressively marketed, and their flagship brand is Quebec and eastern Ontario only.
