Probably, because revenue comes from ads. Newspapers and magazines are there to sell ads, with writing used as fillers.

To this end I'd like to see who would be interested in a new computer paper for the Toronto area. This would be a free and have a pro-Linux/OpenSource
Despite hype, there is nothing to "sell" on Linux or Open Source area. Well, so far, at least.
